When I change the plugs on the motor it temporarily makes the boat run better at full throttle. It seems like when we take the boat out a couple of times can not get full RMP like the plugs are filed out. Could the power packs have anything to do with this problem? Try running a can of SeaFoam gas additive through the engine. Pump gas now a days has ethanol in it. If a fuel tank is left with gas in it for a long period of time the ethanol will evaporate off leaving bad gas. Yes.Other things to check. Is the prop in great shape.Just a nick will drop RPM.Can you check spark?Every spark plug wire grounded with a tester should jump a 1/2" gap. I always check spark and compression first. Good luck Auto parts : Brake Pad Spreader Acura 1995 . Brake Pressure Gauge Alfa Romeo 1996 . Brake Proportioning Valve Audi 1997 . Mitsubishi . How to Replace the Fuel Filter in a Saturn CarThe fuel filter in your Saturn car is responsible for stopping dirt, debris and other harmful particles from entering the fuel system. A clean fuel filter allows gasoline to flow freely through your vehicle's system, enabling your engine to perform optimally. Ideally, the fuel filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles. Since the things you need to change your own fuel filter are probably sitting right in your own garage, it is not necessary to pay the labor costs that a mechanic would charge for this piece of routine maintenance. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Jack stands Needle-nose pliers Drip pan Shop gloves Safety glasses New fuel filter Step by Step : 1 Locate the fuse box and disconnect the fuel relay fuse. 2 Turn your ignition key and allow the car to run idle until it stops by itself. This is a safety precaution intended to relieve the fuel system of excess pressure. 3 Raise your Saturn using your car jack. Placing jack stands under the car provide extra support and are always a wise idea when working beneath your car. 4 Identify your fuel filter by looking under the driver's side of your car and finding the fuel lines that lead to the brackets holding the fuel pump. Just beyond and above the pump is the filter. 5 Pinch the two tabs on either side of the filter using your pliers. This will release the filter so that you can then gently lower it to the ground into the drip pan. 6 Put your new fuel filter in place of the old one, paying attention to the arrows on the filter that point in which direction the filter should be mounted. When the filter is properly secured, you will hear the tabs click into place. 7 Bring your car back down to ground level by removing the jack stands and lowering the jack. Before lowering your vehicle, always scan the area for animals or children. 8 Connect your fuse relay plug back into the correct outlet in your floor compartment. 9 Start your motor by turning the ignition key several times. Since the gasoline needs time to flow through the fuel system again, you should allow three seconds between each attempt. When the fuel has completely run through the lines again, your car will start and your fuel-filter change will be complete. ResourcesDMV: Replacing a Fuel Filter
Mitsubishi . How to Replace a Grand Am Fuel FilterGeneral Motors does not specify a maintenance schedule to replace the fuel filter in your Grand Am. However, a restricted filter element will have a direct and negative impact on engine power. Small particles that accumulate inside and begin to clog the filter will prevent an adequate flow of fuel from reaching the engine, specially at highway speeds. If you have noticed a loss of engine power and know your filter is beginning to clog, it is time to replace it. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Wrench Ratchet Socket Shop towel Small standard screwdriver Floor jack Jack stands (2) Goggles Back-up wrench Flare wrench Ratchet extension New engine oil New O-ringDepressurizing the Fuel System Step by Step : 1 Park your car in a level surface and open the hood. 2 Disconnect the battery with a wrench. 3 Remove the fuel injector's sight shield located on top of the engine using a ratchet and socket. 4 Locate the fuel pressure test port at the beginning of the fuel rail, where the injectors are mounted. This test port looks like the air valve on your Grand Am tires. 5 Remove the cap from the pressure test port and wrap a shop towel around it. 6 Depress the test port valve with a small standard screwdriver and absorb the fuel spray with the shop towel. Then put the cap back on the test port. 7 Replace the fuel injector's sight shield using the ratchet and socket. Removing the Fuel Filter Step by Step : 1 Raise the rear of your Grand Am with a floor jack and support it on jack stands. 2 Put on your goggles, crawl under the vehicle and locate the fuel filter in front of the fuel tank, below and around the center of the trunk area. 3 Wrap a shop towel around the fitting of the inlet fuel line at the filter. This is the line coming from the fuel tank. 4 Disconnect the inlet fuel line from the filter by squeezing the plastic tabs at the fitting at the same time that you pull the line off the filter nipple. Use the shop towel to absorb any residual fuel in the line. 5 Hold the fuel filter hex nut at the top of the filter with a back-up wrench. This nut, molded into the body of the filter, connects with the retaining nut of the outlet fuel line that goes to the engine. 6 Unscrew the retaining nut of the outlet fuel line using a flare wrench. Discard the O-ring from the outlet line fitting. 7 Loosen the fuel filter clamp at the bracket using a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket and slide the fuel filter out of the mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle. Installing the New Fuel Filter Step by Step : 1 Slide the new fuel filter in its mounting bracket and tighten the clamp bolt using the ratchet, ratchet extension and socket. 2 Apply a light coat of new engine oil to the new O-ring and install the O-ring in the outlet line fitting. 3 Hand tighten the outlet line fitting to the filter hex nut. Then steady the filter hex nut with the back-up wrench and tighten the line fitting with the flare wrench. 4 Connect the inlet fuel line by pushing the line fitting against the plastic retainer on the filter nipple. Pull the light slightly to make sure the line fitting has engaged the filter and locked in place. 5 Lower your Grand Am using the floor jack. 6 Connect the battery using the wrench. 7 Turn the ignition key to the "On" position to pressurize the fuel system and check for leaks at the filter. 8 Turn off the ignition. Chapter 12: Keeping Your Electrical System in Tune 2. Remove the rotor from the shaft. To remove a small rotor, just lift it straight up off the distributor shaft (see Figure 12-17). To remove a large rotor, you need to unscrew the two screws and lift the rotor off the distributor shaft (see Figure 12-18). 536

Part'"' KeeP'n9 Your Car m Good Condition, System by System All rotors go on in only one way: They either have a square-pin-insquare-hole/round-pin-in-round-hole arrangement, or they're notched or shaped so that they fit on the shaft pointing in only one direction. Still, it's a good habit to take a long look at anything you remove before you remove it, because you tend to forget how it's situated, and sometimes you have to make a choice. Don't be afraid to draw pictures if you aren't sure you'll remember how something fit together. 4. Look at the metal contacts that conduct current to the spark plug terminals. If the rotor contacts are corroded, broken, or cracked, you really need a new one! In any case, plan to use the new one after you're through working on the rest of the distributor. 5. Set the old rotor aside. Under the rotor on some vehicles, you may find something called the centrifugal advance (see Figure 12-19). Its function is rather complicated, it has nothing to do with this minor tune-up, and it hardly ever breaks. Just leave it where it is and forget it. Figure 12-19: A centrifugal advance. Remove and replace the condenser Under the rotor (and possibly the static shield) are the points and condenser. Before you remove the condenser, look at the two little wires, one leading to the points and the other to the condenser, that join together — usually with some sort of little screw and washer arrangement (refer to Figure 12-13). Take a good look at how the wires (sometimes called leads) fit together in the gadget that holds them (called the primary terminal). The main purpose of the primary terminal is to prevent the clips at the ends of these wires from touching the floor of the distributor, which is called the breaker plate. If they touch the breaker plate, they short out and the car doesn't start. Now follow these steps: 1. Take a closer look at how the wires connect. Are the little clips at the ends of the wires touching each other? Or are they separated with something? Does the screw that holds them in place touch them? Or is there something in between?
